Blockbuster movies mean a blockbuster selling season for retailers stocked with the right licensed character gear for children.

Washington Shoe Company National Sales Manager Mike Buxton said character product is a major portion of Western Chief’s children’s business. To prepare for the March 2016 release of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” Western Chief is introducing a new Spring ’16 Batman and Superman rain gear set at FFANY. The company also added a Finding Dory collection for the release of “Finding Dory” in June 2016, and new Spider-Man rain products for the July 2017 release of “Ultimate Spider-Man.”

And because “Frozen” is still golden at retail, Western Chief is bowing a new collection of Elsa- and Anna-themed rain boots and jackets, as well as a playful Olaf set for boys and girls, for Holiday. “Frozen 2” hits theaters in 2018.
