Zappos Teams with Virgin America for Good Cause

Online footwear and apparel retailer Zappos.com and California-based airline Virgin America have announced a partnership that will see the development of a new, limited edition Stuart Weitzman shoe to support the American Heart Association.

The ‘Virgin America Pump in Concourse Red’ will debut onboard flights this fall, and will also be available to the public on Zappos.com, with $10 from each pair sold going to support the American Heart Association. The pump is in Virgin America’s signature red – the same sparkly shade used on the airline’s plane livery – and features and extra insole padding and a limber, rubber sole for better grip.

In addition to the custom pump, Virgin America and Zappos are also introducing a collection of clothing and accessories curated by Virgin America In-flight teammates to help complete the look. The selection, including Levi’s jeans and a Theory dress, is available online at Zappos.com

“Our mission at Virgin America has always been to bring back a bit of the style to flying – and our sleek aircraft cabins and design-forward in-flight uniforms have helped do just that. By partnering with Zappos, we’re now looking to take that a step further with the custom-designed Virgin America pump,” said Luanne Calvert, Virgin America chief marketing officer. “Travel can be stylish and fun – and this limited edition shoe was designed with an eye for both function and fashion. Created to be both comfortable and chic, it is the perfect travel accessory.”
