FN Platform will be hosting its exhibits in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center for the upcoming Feb. 5-7 show.
Previously, the footwear expo was held in the convention center’s South Hall. However, FN Platform says its new location will give it greater proximity to WWDMAGIC.
“We are all on the go 24/7 and bringing the shows closer together provides buyers more efficiency with their time and the ability to cross-shop the marketplace,” Leslie Gallin, president of footwear at Informa/UBM, said in a statement.
This all part of a plan to revamp the “look and feel” of FN Platform in 2019, the organization said. Plans are in place to emphasize the show experience, and organizers will test new design and decor elements at the February show. The full rollout of the new FN Platform experience is expected to be finalized in time for the August edition.
“The new FN Platform will incorporate all senses and offer an enhanced shopping experience and a continued focus on its customers,” the company said.
The first of the new experiences has little to do with footwear. The organization has revealed that hungry attendees at the show in February can expect to see new culinary offerings from restaurants like Vegas Street Eats, East Ocean, Fremont Grill, Honey Salt BBQ, Lindo Michoacan, Walla Pao, Prima Stampa and Atomic Pizza.
FN Platform has expanded its social media “activations” for the expo next month, too. Its “Cosmo in Play” lounge is specifically designed to be the perfect place to take a trade show selfie and FDRA’s Shoe In podcast will tape an episode on opening day directly from the show floor.
In advance of the show, here’s a sneak peek at what’s expected to be some of the biggest trends in footwear for both men and women in the coming year.
