ModCloth Builds a Team for Brick-and-Mortar Expansion

Kitschy online lifestyle retailer ModCloth is putting together a team to expand into brick-and-mortar. The company announced the addition of it’s first-ever vice president of stores and retail operations, Elizabeth Cooksey.

Cooksey played an instrumental role in launching ModCloth’s first prototype physical store last July in San Francisco. The store, located in the city’s Union Square, will remain open through the end of this month. She previously directed store development for Nike, Free People, BHLDN, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters.

For marketing, the company has tapped denim brand marketing veteran Mary Alderete to join as chief marketing officer. Alderete brings over 20 years of experience from fashion and retail brands, including True Religion, Levi Strauss & Co. and Gap.

In a statement, ModCloth CEO Matthew Kaness said, “We have a clear vision for the future of ModCloth and exciting expansion plans, including offline, international and brand extensions – all areas where Mary has tremendous experience.”
