Amazon is continuing its West Coast business expansion.
The e-tail giant announced plans Friday to open a new fulfillment center in Sacramento, California, which will bring more than 1,000 warehouse jobs to the area. The new facility will be Amazon’s 10th in California. It’s also the fourth fulfillment center opening announced by Amazon since March.
“Our ongoing expansion in California, which started just four short years ago, is the result of two things: incredible customers and an outstanding workforce in this state,” Amazon’s vice president of North American operations, Akash Chauhan, said.
In addition to Amazon’s announcement of new fulfillment centers in Sacramento, Eastvale and Tracy, Amazon has seven additional facilities throughout the Golden State, including those in Moreno Valley, Patterson, Redlands, Rialto, San Bernardino and Tracy.
