DSW Debuts at NYFW with Fresh Faces in Fashion

DSW made its Fashion Week debut sponsoring the Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion runway show at Pier 59 Studios on Thursday. Gen Art works toward promoting emerging talent in art and entertainment. Each of the selected designers in the show paired their Spring ’16 collections with shoes from DSW.

The three finalists, Ada + Nick, House of Cannon by Annie Cannon-Brookes and Daniel Silverstain featured styles like white high top sneakers, steel-toe work boots and white platform sandals with their runway looks. All the styles shown on the runway will be available online and at select retail locations across the country.

Camille Merkle, DSW director of brand engagement, commented, “At DSW we believe in the power of shoes and understand that shoes bring out something great from within. The time was right for us to join the New York Fashion Week conversation and we welcome the opportunity to showcase DSW’s vast assortment on the runway. Gen Art introduces us to designers who are at the beginning of their career and we are excited to be a part of the organization’s 20th Anniversary event.”

The sponsorship aligns with DSW’s current advertising campaign, which embraces authenticity by capturing individuals in their everyday lives. For the company’s spring campaign, photographers traveled across eight states, photographing people who had stories about what their shoes mean to them.
