New England Patriot’s tight end Rob Gronkowski stars in Kids Foot Locker’s new television spot for the back-to-school shopping. The ad campaign features an assortment of Nike products available at Kids Foot Locker locations and online.
In the commercial, called “Grown-ups,” Gronkowski or “Gronk” is greeted by a group of young fans outside his team’s training facility. While signing autographs, Gronk admires the kids’ new Nike gear from Kids Foot Locker. He explains that he has to leave because he has “grown-up” things to do, however, the scene shifts to Gronkowski at home playing video games and eating pizza while surrounded by childhood staples like arcade games, a football field blanket, model trains and stacks of comic books.
Foot Locker Executive Vice President of Marketing Stacy Cunningham said Gronkowski was the right choice for the television spot because of his “affable demeanor.” She added, “As a hero athlete, he helps highlight the fresh new gear available at Kids Foot Locker for the back-to-school season. The kids had such a blast working with Gronk, as he is so down-to-earth and friendly.”
