Kohl’s announced Thursday it will be the department store retail partner for The Color Run, a paint race event company, in an effort to become the active and wellness destination for American families.
Select Kohl’s stores, in more than 100 U.S. cities, will provide a one-stop shop for Color Run participants gearing up for race day with broad selection of active wear brands like Nike, Fitbit, adidas, Gaiam, Fila Sport and Asics.
The Color Run recently debuted its 2015 Shine Tour, a completely new tour that includes special “sparkle attractions.” Kohl’s will be present at each race, encouraging participants to take and share celebratory photos on social media using the hashtag #MakeYourMove.
Kohl’s chief customer officer Michelle Gass said, “Kohl’s is teaming with The Color Run to invite America’s families to get active at one of the most engaging, socially-sharable and accessible fitness events in the country.” He added, “We are continually connected with Kohl’s strong social followers and will encourage those participating in the event, or those cheering on their friends and family, to share their stories with our social community. We know jumping into the active lifestyle is a different experience for everyone and The Color Run is the perfect event for families to have fun with fitness.”
In January the department store giant launched its Make Your Move initiative, inviting Americans to incorporate wellness and exercise into their lifestyles.
