What the Mothers of Vamp Want for Mother’s Day

The National Retail Federation (NRF) projected that consumers will spend $21.393 billion on Mother’s Day this year, a 1.1 percent increase from last year, in its annual Mother’s Day survey. Jewelry tops consumers’ shopping list, however 35.4 percent of the 7,000 consumers the NRF surveyed said they’ll treat their moms clothing or accessories.

Over a quarter of consumers said they plan to shop online. The Vamp staff is part of that force of shoppers making their purchases online. We asked the mothers in our lives to browse and pick out which shoe they would like to receive on Mother’s Day.

Jean, mother of Vamp Editor Angela Velasquez, wants…

“I’ve had my eye on Vionic‘s white and tortoise flip-flops for some time now. They’re the kind of shoe I could leave by the door for a quick trip to the store, or when I take the dogs out.”

Aida, mother of Editor Cleo Levin, wants…

“I would pick Arche Dato boots because they would give my feet a great tan in the summer. The shoe is comfortable yet funky. I especially like the metallic leathers because they would reflect the light really nicely in the summer sun.”

Evelyn, grandmother of Editor Cleo Levin, wants…

“I picked the Malini sandal by Ahnu because they are not the usual bare toe sandal. They look dressier.”

Alina, mother of Editor Matt Vitone, wants…

“This one by Coach just spoke to me—love the chunky block heel. Funny that you write about shoes, because back in the day I was a shoe hoarder! My closet was full with them. Ooh, I miss those days.”
