NikeLab MA5, as it is called, is the seventh such store Nike has introduced, following locations in New York, London, Paris, Milan, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Nike first introduced the NikeLab concept in 2014 as a destination offering the company’s latest product innovations and collaborative collections.
In that spirit, Nike is launching the Tokyo store with a special display of the latest NikeLab ACG collection of men’s outdoor apparel and footwear.
With a thematic focus on uniting nature and technology, NikeLab MA5 will offer visitors all sorts of unique experiences, including a scent exclusive to the store.
Nike designers worked with long-term engineering partner Arthur Huang on the space, incorporating Japanese culture and traditions into the design. Tatami mat floors are paired with locally sourced wood walls in the digitally-powered fitting rooms, while the same wood appears on modular display cubes alongside Nike Grind display benches, which utilize a palette of premium recycled and regenerated materials.
For those of you making a stop in Tokyo this winter, the newest NikeLab opens Dec. 1.
