Tis the season to buy brand name footwear at deep discounts. In addition to wooing shoppers back with mystery deals (6pm.com), bonus cash (JCPenney) and free snacks (Kmart), retailers are gearing up for the post-Thanksgiving shopping frenzy by marking down popular fall and winter footwear.
Vamp, staffed by a team of self-proclaimed “superior shoppers”, scoured the Black Friday ads to find the biggest discounts. Here’s how footwear fared.
On Black Friday, online retailer 6pm.com will dole out discounts for popular boot brands, including Frye, Ugg and Timberland. Men’s Timberland boots and sneakers will be reduced up to 60 percent, meanwhile Steve Madden boots for men will start at $39.99. Other boots for men and women will be priced $49.99 or less. For kids, the retailer is offering footwear for $19.99 or less, including Crocs.
Sales continue on Cyber Monday, with Madden Girl boots for women up to 70 percent off. Guess, Nine West and other select women’s shoes will start at $29.99. Tommy Hilfiger footwear for men and women will start at $34.99. Families can stock up on Converse sneakers, which will start at $29.99.
Kmart is giving dollar stores a run for their money. From Thursday to Saturday, the retailer is offering ‘buy one, get one for one dollar’ on all family footwear. Styles include slippers, men’s work boots, women’s faux shearling and quilted fashion boots, children’s licensed sneakers and more.
Boots are a hot ticket item for the Texas-based retailer. Women’s Rampage boots will retail for $19.99. Key items include moto boots lined with shearling, western boots, double-layer fringe boots and combat styles. Shoppers that purchase two pairs of Rampage boots will receive a free shopping bag and a $20 off coupon redeemable that weekend toward any women’s boot purchase.
Short or tall, all women’s boots will be 40 percent off on Black Friday. Styles include classic riding boots to shorties with exposed shearling. Slippers for the entire family will also be 40 percent off.
From Thanksgiving Day to 2 p.m Friday, JCPenney will discount Nike athletic shoes for men and women 25 percent. Fila sneakers will be on sale for $24.99. New Balance and Asics athletic shoes will be available for $34.99.
Select women’s fashion boot styles—quilted, fringe, plaid, slouch and two-tone riding boots—will be on sale for $19.99. Women’s boots under the Arizona Jeans, A.N.A. and St. John’s Bay labels, regularly $60-$100, will be marked down to $29.99. Meanwhile, Liz Clairborne boots will be available for $39.99. Clarks’ Riddle Avant boot will be reduced to $69.99 from $134. Other Clarks styles will be available for $49.99.
Men’s dress shoes and boots by JF J. Ferrar and St. John’s Bay, regularly $60-$70, will be reduced to $29.99. Call It Spring shoes and boots for men will be marked down to $39.99.
Women’s boots by Rampage, Seven Dials and Macy’s own Style & Co. label will be offered at the “doorbusting” price $19.99 from 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day to 1 p.m. Black Friday. The boots, a mix of faux fur-accented short boots, ankle boots and lace-ups, regular retail for $59-$69. Select tall leather boots, regularly $129-$189, will retail for $99. Women’s booties ($59.90-$79 full price) will be on sale for $39.99 and weatherproof boots will be marked down from $69 to $29.99.
Designer boots by Vince Camuto, Nine West, Calvin Klein and more will be reduced 25-50 percent. Fashion sneakers will be 40 percent off.
Men’s dress and fashion boots will be on sale for $24.99, including harness boots, chukkas and Chelsea boots. Men’s boots by Nautica and Weatherproof will be marked down from $75-80 to $39.99. Tommy Hilfiger duck boots will be reduced to $49.99.
Sales will be big and plenty at Finish Line’s shop-in-shops in Macy’s locations. Select men’s and women’s footwear by brands like Under Armour, New Balance and Puma will be on sale for under $40.
Kohl’s meets the demand for active and athleisure footwear by offering 25 percent off its selection Nike footwear for men and women. Select New Balance, Adidas and Asics styles be available for $29.99——more than half off their original price.
Fringe and Ugg-inspired boots dominate Kohl’s Black Friday assortment for juniors and kids. Kids’ boots start at $14.99, meanwhile junior’s boots will be on sale for $19.99; cozy moccasins for $14.99. Licensed footwear for toddlers, including Star Wars and Frozen slippers will be down to $6.99.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Ebay will roll out new deals every hour. Ugg Australia Classic Short boot, regularly $155, will be reduced 39 percent to $94.99. Shoppers can chose from six colors.
DSW will offer a free trendy blanket wrap with 30 percent off the purchase of two pairs of shoes. There’s plenty of discounted boots the choose from, including $49.95 gray White Mountain boots (compared to $69), Sorel Winter Carnival boots for $129.95 and Unisa Careana stretch boots for $69.95 (regularly $99).
On the dressier end, women can stock up festival heels by BCBGeneration regularly $118 on sale for $69.95, and Chinese Laundry cutout booties discounted from $70 to $49.95.
Men can get deals on Timberland Earthkeeper boots, Vans’ high-top sneakers and Dr. Scholl’s slippers.
Men’s and women’s Nike and Under Armour footwear go on sale (25 percent off) beginning 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. From Thursday-Saturday, shoppers can save up to $70 on Asics running shoes. Under Armour, Reef and Adidas sandals are on offer for buy one get one half off. Sof Sole insoles are reduced 25 percent and start at $5.99. Children’s Adidas basketball shoes and New Balance running shoes will be on offer for $28.75. Adidas LK Sport running shoes for kids, regularly $40, will be marked down to $18.75.
If you plan on hitting the slopes, Sports Authority will offer men’s Merrell Thermo 6 winter boots for $99.99 (regularly $125), women’s Columbia Ice Maiden boots for $69.99 (regularly $80) and children’s Kamik boots for as low as $13.99.
Additionally, shoppers who spend $50 or more will receive $15 cash card for future in-store purchases.
Shoppers have another chance at Bon-Ton to score discounted Rampage women’s boots. From 5 p.m. Thursday to 3 p.m. Friday, the boots will be on sale for $19.97. Gift-givers will receive a free shopping bag as a gift with purchase of two or more Rampage boots.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
For three days, Dick’s Sporting Goods will offer a 25 percent discount on Nike footwear and regular-price socks. Brooks’ Adrenaline GTS 15 for men and women will be reduced to $89.98, compared to its original price $119.99. Other discounts include $40 off Asics GT-1000 3 sneakers and 50 percent off Reebok Speed Rise sneakers. Shoppers can also nab half-priced Wolverine and Rock hunting boots. The retailer is offering free shipping and returns on footwear and apparel ordered on Dicks.com.
