Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City will open a permanent Manolo Blahnik boutique in the Saks’ 10022-Shoe designer shoe salon. The approximately 760-square-foot shop-in-shop will be one of the largest Manolo Blahnik boutiques in the world. The boutique opens August 22.
The boutique will be comprised of two rooms custom-designed by the Saks’ design team in collaboration with Blahnik. The first room represents a woman’s boudoir filled with walls of shoes with an antique Murano glass chandelier as the centerpiece. Custom metal and mother-of-pearl screens transition the customer from the boudoir to the sitting room with a Venetian glass-mirrored focal wall.
Saks will celebrate the occasion with New York windows, exclusive Manolo Blahnik footwear and the launch of Blahnik’s new book, “Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions,” a survey of Blahnik’s work focusing on Blahnik’s most powerful relationships and inspirations. The book will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue and on the store’s website in early September 2015.
