Toms Plants Roots In Soho

Residents of Manhattan’s Soho nabe can now swing by their local Toms store for a cup of joe — Toms Roasting Co. coffee, to be specific.

Toms opened its first New York City store last week on Elizabeth Street. In addition to selling the brand’s men’s, women’s and children’s footwear lines, the store stocks its eyeglass, jewelry and newly launched handbag collection.

Similar to other footwear stores in the neighborhood, including the Wolverine Company Store and BucketFeet, which will open doors to its first Manhattan store on Saturday on the same street, the Toms store was designed to be a hub for consumers to shop, mingle and learn.

Decorated with a global-infused rustic feel, the store is equipped with a coffee bar serving Toms Roasting Co. coffee, One Girl cookies, and croissants and danishes by New York institution Balthazar, a book swap shelf for locals to recycle, donate and browse books and an outdoor patio with a gas fireplace. The brand also plans to host seasonal craft nights, documentary and movie screenings, tastings and live music events.
