Reebok Offers New Sneaks to New Balance Twitter-Haters

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

The New Balance saga took an interesting turn when Reebok Classic’s tweeted responses to Twitter users fed up with New Balance’s perceived pro-Trump stance, offering them Reeboks.

The New Balance political controversy began when Wall Street Journal reporter Sara Germano tweeted comments made by Matt LeBretton, New Balance public affairs VP.

“The Obama [administration] turned a deaf ear to us and frankly [with] President-Elect Trump we feel things are going to move in the right direction,” Germano tweeted.

Even after New Balance posted a statement via social media explaining the somewhat misconstrued words of LeBretton, the twitterverse maintained their negative view of the brand. Reebok seized the opportunity and added some humor to the situation.

For those switching from New Balance to Reebok in light of New Balance’s perceived pro-Trump stance, Reebok has you covered. The brand even tweeted a picture of the fully-stocked sneaks stockroom.
