Neon, Yvolution’s break into the footwear industry from their wheeled scooter-like products, debuted a new line of sneakers featuring wearer-controlled LED lights on Monday.
Controlled by the wearer, the shoes feature LED lights on the midsole and are available in low or high-top uppers in black, white or red.
The technology comes in when the wearer pushes a button near the top eyelet of the shoe to choose one of the seven light colors ranging from orange to lime green, and four different light speeds. The shoes, and wearers, stay lit for up to six hours and are re-charged within two to three hours via a built-in USB port.
“The response to our Neon line has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re ecstatic to build upon that success by expanding our offering to include Neon KYX,” said Thomas O’Connell, Yvolution global CEO. “Our light-up sneakers are a fun fashion statement for both children and adults, as they choose the colors and patterns that best fit their mood or outfit for the day.”
The Neon KYX collection is available at Toys ‘R’ Us stores across the country and online, in men’s, women’s and kids’ sizes.
The shoes retail for $69.99-$74.99.
