Family-owned footwear company SoftStar Shoes has new and improved digs. The company, which has manufacturing soft leather shoes for babies, children and adults in Corvallis, Ore. for over a decade, recently moved into a larger workshop in Philomath, Ore.
The new space, which housed a roller rink in the 1950s and later became a flea market, combines production and retail spaces. The renovation of the building incorporated eco-friendly appliances and materials to make it an energy-efficient and healthy for employees and visitors.
The brand also rolled out a new logo aimed to appeal to a wider audience. SoftStar replaced its original star and moon logo with a whimsical swirl.
The company said the circular logo evolved from images of tree rings and fingerprints to “represent the natural and individually handcrafted nature of our product.”
