Adidas Originals Makes Runway Splash with White Mountaineering

Designer Yosuke Aizawa debuted a two-part show during a fashion show in Paris last week, showcasing the first-ever standalone White Mountaineering collection as well as a new collaboration with Adidas Originals.

Re-imagining the brand’s trademark three stripes as a triangle meant to represent a mountain, the Adidas Originals by White Mountaineering Spring ’17 collection featured Aizawa’s take on Adidas footwear and apparel for both men and women.

The entire collection was inspired by the idea of urban nomads, uniting form and function. Gore-Tex, Primeknit and reflective three stripes brought an avant-garde feeling to retro-inspired pieces such as windbreakers and football-influenced tracksuit bottoms, but also grunge-infused dresses.

The show was also an opportunity to introduce new footwear silhouettes such as the NMD_R2, the EQT Support Futureand the NMD City Trail, as a modern counterpoint to the vintage-inspired collection. Classic models like the Campus 80 were also still integrated into the footwear offering.

The Adidas Originals by White Mountaineering collection will be available globally starting January 2017 at Adidas Originals flagship stores, online and at select retailers. There will also be a second drop in March 2017.
