Asics opened its first-ever U.S. concept store for AsicsTiger in New York last Thursday.
AsicsTiger is a lifestyle brand that looks at footwear and apparel through a street-inspired lens. The new concept store, located in New York City’s trendy SoHo nabe, will feature the latest in Asics footwear and apparel offerings, including a number of limited release exclusives.
The 1,900-square-foot store merges natural and industrial elements and finds inspiration from Asics’ Japanese heritage. The space features a shoe wall made of symbolic natural marble, juxtaposed with the street-inspired mortar and guardrails throughout the store. The space will also house artwork displays and interactive events.
“We’re incredibly proud of the global reach of the AsicsTiger brand, and we’re excited to be expanding our footprint into the U.S. market,” said Shoda Ryoji, senior general manager, global lifestyle division of Asics. “The unique energy of New York City, and specifically SoHo, breeds some of the most influential lifestyle and cultural trends, and it’s the perfect location for our growing brand.”
