Bata Shoes Names Alexis Nasard New CEO

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Swiss footwear manufacturer and retailer Bata announced this week that Alexis Nasard has been selected as group chief executive officer.

Nasard joins Bata with 24 years of experience in consumer goods, including six years at Heineken, and most recently as President of the $8 billion Western European business, and as global chief marketing officer for their extensive number of global and local brands.

“I am very excited at the opportunity to work with the Bata team to further develop the company and its brands, particularly the Bata brand, through a fast-changing consumer and retail environment, building on the Company’s strong assets and global footprint,” said Nasard.

During his 17 years at Procter & Gamble, Nasard held various senior management roles including defining the strategies for new product categories and selling through various retail channels both in developed and emerging markets.

“I am delighted to welcome Alexis who, with his impressive global background and strategic experience, will help us to identify global opportunities to accelerate Bata’s growth,” said Christopher Kirk, Bata chairman.
