Bella Hadid Stars in 45th Anniversary Campaign for Nike’s Cortez

Bella Hadid is the new face of the Nike Cortez. The model stars in the brand’s new ’70s-inspired images that celebrate the iconic sneaker’s 45th anniversary.

The Nike Cortez, officially released in 1972, was the first example of Nike footwear with visible technology. A women’s version launched two years later. Over the years the shoe has been worn by champion runners and become a staple of West Coast hip-hop street style. 

“The Cortez is an iconic shoe that harkens back to my earliest days in the sport. The shoe allowed me the confidence and support to explore my fullest potential as a young aspiring athlete,” said Joan Benoit Samuelson, gold medalist of the first Olympic women’s marathon at the 1984 Los Anglenes games.
