Brooks Running announced the promotion of Patrick Pons de Vier to senior vice president of global footwear, and the addition of Gerald Kuhtz as senior design director of global footwear. The new roles are part of Brooks’ ongoing investment in and commitment to product innovation, business growth and better experiences for its end user.
Prior to joining Brooks, Pons de Vier worked at Amer Sports as Salomon vice president, where he led winter sports equipment, apparel and ran footwear strategic alignment and integration. In his new role, Pons de Vier will direct Brooks’ entire footwear team from design to research and development. His goals include driving product consistency, innovation and establishing a design identity that brings clarity to Brooks’ footwear aesthetic.
Kuhtz, who most recently served as Adidas’ vice president of football design, will oversee Brooks’ “art-plus-science” component. Part of his role is to create a compelling visual identity for each shoe.
