Brooks Running Company announced plans to enter China and Brazil markets starting in July of this year.
The two countries represent two of the largest running markets in the world. Brooks Running will enter China online via T-Mall and Amazon, as well as in store at key sporting goods retailers in major areas like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. In Brazil, the brand will partner with Centauro, a Brazilian sporting goods retailer.
In China, the brand will promote Brooks Run Signature, a fitting method that utilizes cutting-edge technology to recommend the best shoes for runners. Brooks will also add apparel and sports bras to its China assortment in 2018. The brand will offer its complete footwear range in Brazil.
“Brooks is 100 percent focused on the run, and it’s important that our brand is part of the running community across the globe,” said Brooks CEO Jim Weber. “Following success in Europe, Japan and Canada, entry into China and Brazil represents the next step in our global expansion strategy. I’m excited about the opportunity to inspire more people around the world to run and be active.”
In a press release, the company reveals that it plans to continue to explore expansion in other areas with a large running population in 2018 and is also planning to strengthen its presence in Germany, Italy, France and the UK.
