CEO Transition Occurs at Rocky Brands

Rocky Brands, Inc., the parent company of footwear brands like Rocky, Durango and Lehigh, announced the appointment of Chairman of the Board of Directors Mike Brooks as the interim chief executive officer on Thursday.

The news comes after David Sharp’s resignation from his position as president and chief executive officer, and as a member of the Board of the Directors of the company. Sharp held the position from July 2011 until Thursday.

“I am sincerely grateful for the time I spent with the company and I remain a strong supporter of Rocky Brands and all of its employees,” Sharp said in a statement.

Brooks will hold the position in the interim while the Board conducts the search for a new CEO. He is no stranger to the position, as he previously held the title from August 1991 until July 2011.

“The Board has great confidence in the skills and talent of the management team and their ability to continue to execute on the strategy we have laid out together. I look forward to working with the entire Rocky Brands team as we continue to strive to return the Company to profitability and sustained growth,” Brooks said in a statement. “We thank David Sharp for his many years of service and wish him well in his new endeavors.”
