Chinese Laundry Awarded for Innovation in Omnichannel Integration

Women’s footwear brand Chinese Laundry has been named 2016’s Top Innovator by Apparel Magazine for its innovative ominichannel integration solution. The annual award recognizes retail brands that move the industry forward in interesting and unexpected ways in areas like marketing, merchandising, and technology.

Chinese Laundry made waves when it fully integrated all e-commerce operations with POS locations using Celerant Command Retail, which provided real-time inventory availability that eliminated out of stocks and gave executives insights into the sales velocity of individual SKUs on every channel. This full omnichannel integration built the infrastructure Chinese Laundry needed to redesign digital sales channels including brand new web and mobile sites. These changes results in a 54 percent growth in mobile commerce sales, a 50 percent increase in search page productivity, and a 20 percent decrease in cancelled orders, as well as a 31 percent increase in electronic conversions.

“It is really impossible to overstate how vital integrating all of our sales channels into a single retail technology management platform has been for managing inventory, understanding consumer behavior and improving service level,” said Scott Cohn, vice president of e-commerce for Chinese Laundry. “That is apparent in the amazing numbers we achieved, but the real story is one of sustainability and that will be measured by the boost to customer loyalty we have already seen and will continue for years to come.”

Apparel Magazine will feature Chinese Laundry and its other 2016 Top Innovators in a special report appearing on its website and their May print issue. The company will also be honored at a special reception and dinner at the 2016 Apparel Executive Forum in Fort Lauderdale, Florida taking place Oct. 5-7.

“The retail environment is changing so rapidly that retailers who want to keep up with customer expectations need to forge strong partnerships with technology providers who provide the tools they need to successfully navigate omnichannel sales,” said Ian Goldman, Celerant Technology CEO. “This really is well-deserved recognition for Chinese Laundry, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them for many years to come.”
