Cole Haan Launches Made in Maine Collection

Join Sourcing Journal on March 13th HKT for Sourcing Summit Hong Kong for discussions on mending relationships between supply chain partners, remaking factories for smaller MOQs and faster turns, and creating resilience to survive the next inevitable crisis.

American footwear and accessories brand Cole Haan has launched a new, limited-edition collection called inspired by the state of Maine.

The collection, “Made in Maine, USA,” offers hand-crafted shoes produced in Lewiston, Maine. Each shoe goes through the hands of at least five different artisans, each playing a key role in the production of the shoe.

These crafters hold the important jobs of rubbing dyes directly into the grain of the leather and maintaining Cole Haan’s traditional stitching. The shoes end up drying overnight to guarantee the brand’s classic shape and structure.

“Creating a shoe that will last a lifetime is an exceedingly personal, painstakingly accurate process from start to finish and is the very definition of American craftsmanship. This quality has allowed Cole Haan to build a legacy that lives on today,” said Cole Haan Chief Marketing Officer David Maddocks.

The shoes, available now, sell for $325-$400 on the company’s website and through Cole Haan retail locations worldwide.
