Danner Boot’s new partnership celebrates the brand’s logging industry roots in a unique way.
The Portland, Ore.-based company announced Wednesday sponsorship of local Major League Soccer team, the Portland Timbers. To kick-off the sponsorship, Danner will host mascot meet-and-greets and pre-show parties in its Portland-area stores.
Danner Boots, which was founded in Portland in the 1930s to meet the demand for rugged timber boots, sees synergies with the team’s victory tradition. The Timbers celebrate wins with the sound of mascot Timber Joey’s chainsaw cutting a round from the victory log.
“Timber Joey wears our Super Rain Forest boots on game days,” said Nicole Vranizan, Danner marketing manager. “Our boots are worn throughout Portland and beyond for all different types of activities. Whether on the feet of Timbers fans or on the trails of Forest Park, we’re excited to partner with such a celebrated organization within our beloved hometown.”
