Designers, Disney Channel stars and footwear executives brushed shoulders in the Waldorf Astoria for FFANY’s and QVC’s annual Gala event.
On Tuesday evening FFANY and QVC celebrated their annual “FFANY Shoes on Sale” Gala at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. The initiative has raised $50 million dollars to support research and awareness for breast cancer.
With a crowd of both industry insiders and celebrities, the gala’s “Pink Carpet” featured litany of guests including “Shoes on Sale” campaign spokesperson Zendaya, singer/footwear designer Jessica Simpson, model Martha Hunt, honoree Sandra Lee, presentation director of Bergdorf Goodman Linda Fargo, CEO of Shopbop Darcy Penick, author Christine Handy and many others.
The gala accompanies QVC’s telethon event “FFANY Shoes on Sale” which aired on Oct. 21 and featured 180 styles of shoes from 85 different brands. The shoes are sold during the broadcast at half the retail price to benefit breast cancer.
FFANY and QVC arranged a “shoe parlor” room within the Waldorf Astoria where gala guests could buy some of the many on sale styles that aired during QVC’s broadcast for the same discount. Brands ranged from Frye to Ferragamo, Donald Pliner, Gucci and Jessica Simpson.
During the latter half of the evening, FFANY honored Sandra Lee with the Jodi Fisher Humanitarian award for the television chief’s service to breast cancer awareness by sharing her own struggle with the disease through her celebrity.
The designer of the year award was given to Edgardo Osorio of Aquazurra and the retailer of the year award was given to Shopbop.com. The gala concluded with a special tribute to “FFANY Shoes on Sale” co-founder Jerome Fisher.
