FN Platform to Launch Women’s Show in New York

The East Coast is getting a new, yet familiar shoe show. On Tuesday, UBM Fashion Group, the owner of MAGIC, Coterie, Project and Stitch, announced plans to launch FN PLATFORM in New York City in February 2017.

The women’s-focused show will take place bi-annually at the Javits Convention Center alongside Stitch, Moda, Edit and Accessories the Show. Sole Commerce will shift to focus on the luxury footwear market. Combined, the team of shows will offer women’s retailers a “head-to-toe buying experience.”

Since debuting in Las Vegas in February 2010, FN PLATFORM has become one of the most comprehensive shoe shows in the U.S. In six years, it has expanded from 40,000 sq. ft. to 500,000 sq. ft. The show will continue to take place twice a year in Las Vegas and serve the men’s, women’s and children’s categories. The next show Las Vegas show will take place Aug. 15-17.

In a press release, UBM Fashion Group President of Footwear Leslie Gallin, stated, “Each year, the show has continued to thrive and these additions will bring continued freshness and opportunity for both sides of the aisle.” She added, “Footwear is a critical portion in the fashion landscape. The East Coast launch will offer a one-stop shopping experience while creating welcoming interest for new brands and retailers from all over the world.”

New York will be buzzing with footwear in February. FFANY is scheduled to take place Jan. 31-Feb. 2.
