Foot Locker Gives Almost 5,000 L.A. Kids New Shoes

Foot Locker continues its 29-year-partnership with the Fred Jordan Missions, a religious charity organization in Los Angeles, to give almost 5,000 children in need new shoes and socks.

Despite Foot Locker’s lag in sales and possible store closures, the company still found the time and resources to give back to a community in need.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles’ Skid Row turned into an outdoor mall for the one-day event, which took place Thursday. Foot Locker associates measured each child for new shoes, while those in need also received backpacks, clothing, school supplies, haircuts and In-N-Out burgers.

Over the years, more than 100,000 kids have received new shoes and socks through the retailer and missions’ partnership.
