Footwear prices continued to pick up steam in February, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The footwear CPI (consumer price index) spiked by 1.8 percent year-over-year, up from January’s meager increase of 0.3 percent, and a major swing from the drops in average prices that took place each month from September to December 2015.

Within footwear, men’s prices increased the most, rising 2.9 percent, while women’s increased by 0.7 percent and children’s jumped 2.5 percent.
