GDS and Tag It! announced Tuesday that it will shift future show dates to a Tuesday to Thursday schedule to better accommodate retailers’ calendars.
Previously, the Dusseldorf, Germany-based event has started on Wednesdays and ended on Fridays.
Messe Dusseldorf President and CEO Matthias Dornscheidt said, “We decided to change the order of trade show days after in-depth talks with the advisory board. GDS is subject to an ongoing optimization process. In response to retailers’ requests the new sequence of days avoids the Friday which is one of the strongest selling days for retail. This way retailers can optimally use these trade shows and do not have to decide between a trade show visit and selling at their store.”
The next GDS and Tag It! event will take place July 26-28, 2016, followed by the winter edition scheduled for Feb. 7-9, 2017.
