Will direct-to-consumer revive the Ivanka Trump brand?
The brand launched an online store for the Ivanka Trump handbag collection. The move marks the brand’s first foray into direct-to-consumer, something not altogether unexpected after the brand’s tumultuous year and a half. Handbags sell for $98 to $298.
Retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Shoes.com dropped the brand earlier this year, despite Ivanka Trump having stepped down from her eponymous company. However, retailers like Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Amazon continue to sell the brand’s handbags online and in-store.
Meanwhile, the Ivanka Trump brand’s footwear can still be found at online retail giants like Zappos and in-store at Macy’s.
