Ivanka Trump Steps Down from Eponymous Label

Ivanka Trump is resigning from her self-named label and role in the Trump Organization.

Trump stepped down as executive vice president of acquisitions and development at the Trump Organization, and relinquished her role with The Ivanka Trump Collection, Vanity Fair reported Monday.

After a dramatic election cycle resulting in a #grabyourwallet boycott of Trump goods,’s drop of Trump merchandise and heavily criticized self-pedaling of her apparel and footwear brands, the future First-Daughter took a drastic step in distancing herself from her and her family’s brands to avoid a possible conflict of interest.

Trump will no longer profit from these brands, selling her common stock and restructuring her role in the Trump Organization in an effort to comply with ethic laws. Trump and her husband, real-estate mogul and New York Observer owner, Jared Kushner, prepare to take on new roles in the White House for the Trump Administration. Kushner will also step down as CEO of his family-named real estate empire, Kushner Companies.

Instead of an income from her now previous roles, Trump will receive a fixed series of payments from the profits of various projects. She also has plans for an upcoming book release in March 2017. Plans to delay or cancel the book release have not been announced.

Only time will tell the affect this move will have on her footwear label owned by Marc Fischer.
