Keen Brings Live Monumental Campaign to Stonewall Inn

In celebration of President Obama’s decision to name New York City’s historic Stonewall Inn as a national monument, Keen is bringing its national Live Monumental tour to the Big Apple.

Covering 7.7 acres in New York City’s Greenwich Village—including the landmark bar, the Stonewall Inn—the new national monument is the first addition to the National Park System specifically highlighting the history of the LGBT community. President Obama designated the historic site a new national monument on Friday.

As a part of its ongoing tour of America’s national parks, Keen will arrive in New York City on June 28, debuting its Live Monumental documentary film as part of the national Wild & Scenic film festival at the IFC Center in Greenwich Village on June 29.

Since the summer of 2015, the campaign has urged the Obama Administration to protect five specific areas in the U.S. that have environmental, recreational and historic significance, through the designation of new national monuments. Two areas have since been protected, the Mojave Trails in California and Boulder White-Clouds in Idaho.
