Keen Names New Executive Vice President

Outdoor footwear brand Keen announced Monday the appointment of Jens Christian Meier as executive vice president, global value supply chain.

After the company snagged former Patagonia CEO, Casey Sheahan, as new president last month, Meier now serves as the seventh ‘high-profile’ hire to join Keen’s team in the last year.

In his new role based in Portland, Ore., Meier will implement industry-leading practices for the brands value supply chain from raw materials to the delivery of finished products. This includes owned manufacturing, third-party sourcing, planning, logistics and distribution. Meier will also help improve the brand through creative product collections and putting a greater emphasis on sustainability throughout the supply chain.

“We are thrilled to have Jens on board to drive value chain excellence for Keen,” said Casey Sheahan, Keen president. “Jens’ track record in global value supply chain management and strategy will bring even more best-in-class products and service to our fans around the globe.”

Meier joins the Keen team with over 35 years of footwear industry experience, previously holding management roles with Ecco Footwear, Elefanten Shoes GMBH and Legero Shoes in Austria.

“It’s an honor to join Keen. I’ve been a fan of the brand for years and am excited to help Keen realize its potential in the global market,” said Meier. “Keen has been building a great team and I’m looking forward to coming on board in December.”
