Keep Teams Up with Ad-Rock to Support Planned Parenthood

Thank you for joining Sourcing Journal & industry leaders at our SOURCING SUMMIT NY, as we discussed the most pressing issues of the day. View the Summit on demand through Jan. 2, and stay tuned for the upcoming Companion Report.

Keep, a cruelty-free shoe company, has collaborated with Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys to create a winter sneaker with net proceeds going to benefit Planned Parenthood.

The sneaker features a weather and water resistant nylon Cordura body, lined with synthetic fleece, and accented with channel quilted, silicon coated nylon. The black shoe with bright pink laces also offers bungee D-ring lace-up system to ensure easy wear.

“Winter’s cold and I couldn’t find a warm sneaker to walk around in. Given the outcome of our current election, it’s gonna get a lot colder before we can feel that summer sun again,” said Ad-Rock. “So, I collaborated with my friend Una [Kim, founder of] Keep shoes, not just because I wanted warm sneaks, but because I support small business. I support women-run business. I support Asian-American run business.”

Ad-Rock went on to explain that the proceeds of the shoe will go to Planned Parenthood because he supports a woman’s right to choose and make decisions for “their own lives and bodies.”

The shoes retail for $97 and ship in February 2017, but are currently available for pre-order.
