Melissa Shoes Releases Colorful Rio-Inspired Style

Join Sourcing Journal on March 13th HKT for Sourcing Summit Hong Kong for discussions on mending relationships between supply chain partners, remaking factories for smaller MOQs and faster turns, and creating resilience to survive the next inevitable crisis.

With the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro just weeks away, one Brazillian brand is turning up the color in a new shoe inspired by the seaside city.

Melissa CEO Michele Levy teased new Rio-themed styles in an interview with VAMP last month, and now it’s finally here. The “Wanna Be Rio,” the latest member of Melissa’s “Wanna Be Carioca” collection, is available now online and at Melissa retail locations.

Described as “the essence of the whole collection,” the Wanna Be Rio mixes Eastern and Western influences in four colorful styles: cobalt, coral, white and black. Featuring a peep toe and a cutout flat-form sole, the Wanna Be Rio is a new take on a traditional oxford.
