New Yorkers love denim as much as shoes. And, attendees at the first-ever New York Denim Days on Saturday and Sunday wore their best of both.
Visitors paired vintage and workwear-inspired denim with heritage work boots, biker boots and brogues. Meanwhile, crisp white sneakers, Old-Skool Vans and retro runners were go-to choices for oversized jeans, drapey jean jackets and patchwork masterpieces.
The business-to-consumer event, which began in Amsterdam in 2014, offers students, denimheads, fashionistas and families a behind-the-scenes look at the denim industry.
Denim brands like Baldwin, Mavi and Wrangler presented their latest collections, while mills, retailers and vintage denim vendors offered consumers opportunities to customize their jeans with patches, chain-stitching or with art work from New York City street artists.
