Fans in Manhattan waited for hours on Thursday afternoon to get the chance to experience Nike’s Air Con 2016, the three-day fan event which leads up to “Air Max Day” on March 26.
Following conferences in Tokyo and Hong Kong, New Yorkers were treated to a treasure trove of Nike goodness. A giant wall of shoes featured the top 100 Air Max models as chosen by Nike. Fans were encouraged to vote for their favorite, which will be re-released on next year’s Air Max Day.
If none of the 100 styles were quite to your liking though, Nike also gave fans the opportunity to create their own sneakers using the NikeID Studio, or to purchase recent styles through the SNKRS store.
Nike plans to celebrate Air Max Day this Saturday with the re-release of the original Nike Air Max Zero in “Rift Blue” (available only in Western Europe) and Yellow. It will also be the last chance fans will have to grab three exclusive Nike HTM sneakers. The Air Max Ultra M , Superfly T and LD-Zero H will be available at select retailers for one day only.
