Nike is celebrating the accomplishments of the legendary runner Joan Benoit Samuelson—who won the first Olympic Women’s marathon in 1984—with the release of a new collection.

The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection celebrates Samuelson’s seminal win, which changed notions that had previously limited women’s running to 1,500 meters. Inspired by her slogan “There is no finish line,” Nike’s first footwear collection inspired by female runners rethinks four famous Nike silhouettes, imbued with the aforementioned trademark.

The collection includes the Air Max Thea Ultra, the Air Presto Premium, and the Air Huarache Run Ultra, all in black premium leather. The fourth shoe in the collection, the Powerful Cortez: Jacquard, showcases a speed-stripe, jacquard-woven material that is inspired by the winning lap and iconography of Samuelson’s race.

The three Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection premium leather shoes will be available Oct. 6 via the SNKRS App and at global retailers worldwide, while the Jacquard style will launch later on Dec. 1.
