The Balenciaga “boot pants” worn by Salma Hayek and Lily Aldridge may be the talk of the town the day after the Met Gala, but Nike is causing a stir of its own.
On Tuesday, the sneaker brand launched the Nike Air Pegasus 83 CDG to celebrate the opening of “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The special edition sneaker has a triple-black suede upper with a leather swoosh and heel tab and features a gold welded CDG logo on the foxing. The sneaker is available at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store in New York City.
The thematic Met exhibit features approximately 150 examples of Kawakubo’s womenswear for Comme des Garçons dating from the early 1980s to her most recent collection.
