Nike Gears Up for Air Max Day

Nike announced Monday a series of shoe releases leading up to the brand’s celebrated Air Max Day on March 26—a day to honor one of the brand’s most successful and acclaimed silhouettes: the Air, in celebration of the shoe’s 30th anniversary.

Nike debuted the Nike Air VaporMax, an updated version of the Air Tailwind introduced in 1979. Serving as one of eight releases before or on Nike’s Air Max Day, the latest upgrade removes layers between the foot and the Air platform, giving wearers the sensation of stepping on air.

“The Nike Air VaporMax is a tremendous example of what happens when we harness the combined insights of our design collective. When designers embrace the technology, and push its potential, we have a boundless future. Just as the Air allows us to run forever, it allows our imaginations to ponder near limitless permutations,” said John Hoke, Vice President, global design for Nike.

The brand knows a thing or two about success, and continues to give shoppers a reason to come back by updating its athlete favorite.

Among the shoes set to drop within the next few weeks are the women’s Nike Air Max Jewell, Max 90 Ultra Flyknit, and a special Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary silhouette.

The Air Max sneakers will be available in stores worldwide by March 26.
