Nike Names New Leadership for Global Basketball

Nike Global Basketball General Manger Michael Jackson is checking out of the game. The performance brand announced this week that Jackson has resigned from Nike. Craig Zanon, a 27-year Nike veteran, is taking over immediately and will report to Jayme Martin, VP and GM of Global Categories.

Zanon knows basketball. He previously led the category for seven years. In his new role, Zanon will run the Global Basketball category and will lead Nike’s strategic partnership with the NBA starting October 2017.

One of Zanon’s main objectives in the NBA partnership is to leverage Nike’s innovation expertise to deliver the best performance products available in the basketball category for men and women. He is also responsible to carry that innovation into consumer products, services and experiences.

In the interim, Zanon will also continue to manage the Global Men’s Training category for Nike.
