Family footwear retailer Rack Room Shoes launched a new campaign with non-profit organization, Shoes That Fit, to help children in need return to school with proper footwear.
Through Sept. 12, the retailer is hosting a fundraiser event, calling for customers to give back to their local communities by supplying children with new shoes. The money raised is channeled through local school liaisons who identify students and school systems in need, while also coordinating the distribution of new footwear.
Since 2007, Rack Room Shoes has raised more than $5.6 million and donated over 200,000 pairs of shoes, while also increasing the number of participating schools by more than 50 percent.
Rack Room is rolling out a new campaign called the Kids Club to promote its back-to-school styles. In keeping with its tradition to use real customers instead of professional models in its advertising, Rack Room’s corporate employees brought their children to the Rack Room Shoes headquarters to star in a photo shoot designed to highlight its wide selection of children’s casual, dress and athletic footwear.
“We always look forward to the Back to School season and this year is no different,” said Rack Room Shoes Senior Director of Marketing, Jan Mauldin. “We are setting higher and higher fundraising goals to benefit Shoes That Fit and are eager to begin incorporating our customers’ families in new branding initiatives for our Kids Club.”
