Rider Sandals, a division of Grendene USA, is heading straight to where the tourists are. The eco-friendly, Brazilian flip-flop company has entered into an official multi-year agreement with Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood in order to gain retail advantages.
As a partner of the theme park, Rider Sandals will have dedicated retail presence in Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Hollywood; develop exclusive products themed to Universal’s properties; and receive select marketing and promotional rights for Universal Parks and Resorts. The brand will be positioned as a waterproof footwear solution for the parks’ water rides. Other styles will feature characters from Universal shows and attractions, and coordinate with themed areas in the parks.
In a press release, Grendene USA Vice President Angelo Daros, said, “Traveling is one of the best ways for people of all ages to create lifelong memories. We’re thrilled that Rider will now be a part of the memories made by Universal guests.”
The partnership reinforces Rider Sandals’ taste for adventure. The brand has placed an emphasis on travel and exploration in previous promotions, including launching a traveling pop-up shop along California’s coast line and sending a couple on a “couch surfing” journey across the world in 2015.
