Rocky Brands, Inc. has announced that Chairman of the Board Mike Brooks has been named chief executive officer.
Brooks has been serving as the company’s interim CEO since September, following the resignation of David Sharp as president and CEO.
The company’s wholesale business has lagged throughout the year. Third-quarter wholesale sales decreased 3.2% in Q3. In response, it Rocky Brands had to cut back on its US workforce.
In a press release, Brooks stated, “Since coming back to serve as interim chief executive officer in early September, I have been reenergized by the skills and devotion of our associates to design, manufacture and deliver quality footwear to our customers. As we bring a close to what has been a difficult year, I believe that we are laying the groundwork for improved performance in 2017 and beyond and I look forward to working with the entire Rocky Brands team in 2017.”
Rocky Brands’ portfolio includes Rocky, Georgia Boot, Durango, Lehigh, Creative Recreation and the licensed brand Michelin.
