The Shoe Market of the Americas Rescheduled Due to Hurricane Irma

Join Sourcing Journal on March 13th HKT for Sourcing Summit Hong Kong for discussions on mending relationships between supply chain partners, remaking factories for smaller MOQs and faster turns, and creating resilience to survive the next inevitable crisis.

The Shoe Market of the Americas (SMOTA) announced the rescheduling of its upcoming Miami show due to the impending category 5 hurricane, Irma.

The show is now scheduled for Sept. 25-27, and will take place at the Miami Airport Convention Center and the Double Tree Miami Airport Hotel.

Florida officials declared a State of Emergency in all 67 counties, forcing the market to postpone the events.

In the meantime, event coordinators urge attendees to reschedule hotel reservations to the new date.

The Dallas Market Center has also made changes to its show schedule, but for a different reason.

The Dallas Market Center announced new dates for its 2018 Apparel and Accessories Markets show, reportedly in an effort to avoid the Texas sales tax holiday. The show will now take place Aug. 22-25, 2018.
