Grammy-winning songstress Meghan Trainor is making her Skechers commercial debut in a television spot for Skechers Originals, the brand’s new retro sneaker collection.
A preview of the global TV campaign was revealed on Thursday. The commercial is slated to hit the airwaves next week and features the lead single “No” from Trainor’s second album, Thank You.
The overall campaign recently kicked off with print ads, online and in-store images as well as via Trainor’s social media channels with the hashtag #MTrainSkechers. Skechers said the Trainor’s efforts are already having a positive impact at retail.
Skechers President Michael Greenberg said, “With the media attention after her well-deserved win at the Grammy Awards and her new album, Meghan’s impact as an influencer continues to grow. Young women around the world are inspired by her, so we couldn’t be happier that Meghan is a member of the Skechers family.”
Trainor’s partnership with the brand is scheduled through 2017 across all media platforms, including television, print, online, social media and point of purchase. Skechers has a long history of working with female recording artists including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood. Singer and actress Demi Lovato is featured in a current global Skechers marketing campaign that will extend through the end of 2016.
