Skidders Footwear announced last week the recall of a model of canvas tennis shoes for children. The shoes in question were built with rivets that cut the wearer’s feet.

The recall was declared necessary by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after they received three reports of injuries caused by the rivets in the shoes. Skidders is now required to recall 5,500 units sold in sizes 12M, 18M and 24M.

The children’s tennis sneakers by Skidders were only available at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin for $10. Consumers who return the defective shoes will receive a refund.
