Sorel and Chloé Upgrade the Joan of Arctic Style

Sorel bows its own version of French girl chic. The Portland, Ore.-based winter boot brand collaborated with Paris-based luxury fashion house Chloé for a new interpretation of the best-selling Sorel style, the Joan of Arctic.

The collaboration boot features waterproof suede, elegant gold buttons and metallic laces, and is insulated with a shearling tongue and lining to keep feet warm at temperatures as low as -25F.

Erin Sander, Sorel director of product, said the opportunity to collaboration with the Paris-based luxury fashion house arose last winter. “It’s an honor to partner with such an established and reputable brand—this fashion-forward collaboration is another exciting elevation of the timeless Sorel spirit,” she added.

The Sorel x Chloé boot launches Nov. 1 for $515, approximately $335 more than Sorel’s original Joan of Arctic. The boot will be available at Chloé stores and at chloe.com.

Sorel has had the opportunity to collaborate with other designers on similar projects, including Anna Sui, but Sander said the partnership with Chloé is much more progressive for the brand.

“Sorel started in cold weather performance, but our evolution has been inspired by our customers who are looking for more than function and style,” she said. “Our collaboration with Chloé helps us explore the ways we can bring Sorel’s unique intersection of protection and style to a new generation and audience.”
